Odyesseus: my first hand made bicycle
Goals
- Design and build a bike that knocks the socks off a commercially available bike of the same cost
- Enable commuting, gravel riding, and long distance touring in a durable and comfortable package
- Submit the bike as my final project for Dr. Fabijanic's Singletrack Vehicle Design class
Methods
- The bike is made of 4130 chromoly steel tubing
- Tubes were mitered on a manual mill
- Coped tubes were arranged in a frame jig and joined with silicon bronze brazing
- The finished frame was sprayed with automotive paint
Results
- It rocks
